      <image:caption>We started from scratch with user interviews to understand where the website and mobile app stood in the shoppers’ overall user journey. One big challenge was the large scope of shopper segments, which revealed a wide range of user behaviours based on cultural background &amp; technological savviness. Key insights Local members shop frequently and actively make plans to go to ION Orchard due to its convenient location and the membership perks they get to enjoy. Their key pain point is the membership features buried in the app, which most were unaware of and resorted to relying on the physical counter service. Non-members from both tourists and local segments mostly shop there when they happen to pass by it. Locals visit the website to locate dining places, and most do not see any reason why they would need an app as they don’t visit often enough to justify downloading it. Their key pain point is the navigability of the website.</image:caption>

The app launched with quiz engagement increasing steadily closer to the event. It became the top downloaded sports app during the race weekend. We continue enhancing the app based on feedback provided through the post-event survey. This project taught us to be more resourceful in gathering user insights indirectly, as well as to think about a solution that evokes excitement across the different user groups.</image:caption>

It consist of combining visually energetic images of past races in the onboarding questionnaire that will shape their personalised app experience. With animation incorporated into the questionnaire, we added an element of delight to excite both types of users. When users provide their ticket details &amp; preferences, the app revolves around their personal schedule and help remind &amp; locate where the next event will be.       <image:caption>We were quite limited in gathering direct users insights, so we had to rely on our observations of cruise-goers behaviour at the facility and stakeholders’ knowledge of their users’ needs.  Pain points include wayfinding and not being aware of what services will be available at the cruise centre, e.g. food or luggage services. Some early cruise-goers were also seen to be waiting around with their carry-on luggage before they can board, passing the time with mobile games or even napping, which we saw as an opportunity to engage them with the solution. The long-term business goal was to provide valuable but lesser-known services in an easily accessible manner. This can make a difference in their holiday-going experience. In order to achieve this, the existing app had to be revamped in its content structure.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Our approach was to reimagine the app as an exciting entry point to the cruise-goers’ holidays, while still guiding them through their arrival or departure process. The app enhances their experience through suggesting of services that they can purchase and store in their eWallet, access to free wifi and exclusive promotions in future phases. Dynamic Dashboards The app also introduces its features through a dynamic dashboard that reflects the intention of the user- to depart or to arrive from a cruise to the cruise centre. The interaction of the dashboards aims to give users quick access to their eWallet purchases. Our stakeholders saw an opportunity to increase awareness for their services, which few cruise-goers know about unless they request it directly or enquire with the staff on the ground.</image:caption>
